Terms

These developer documents use some key terms that are useful to familiarize yourself with:

Term Description
AIQ (AdaptiveIQ) a custom analytics application built on top of BurstChain®
Asset a piece of data (stored in a block)
Asset Permissioning / Sharing an action that provides a user or group of users with permission to access or view an asset or group of assets
Asset Transfer an action that changes ownership of an asset from one data owner (or group of data owners) to another data owner (or group of data owners)
Block the smallest discrete unit of asset(s) on the platform. May contain one or more assets
BurstChain® BurstIQ’s proprietary blockchain-based Big Data platform, including data storage and management systems
Chain a series of blocks that all relate to each other (or build from each other).
Client or Company The entity that is developing an application or service on top of BurstChain®
Client Data Space the reserved, separate data space where data is not allowed to transition to any other data space; it is identified by a client name that is used throughout the BurstChain® API
Collection a group of data
Consent Contract a customizable smart contract that enables data owners to grant data access / permission to other users
Data Owner the user (or multiple users) that own an asset
Dictionary a set of definitions created by a data owner that allow BurstChain® to properly organize and understand the data, data types and data structures; a dictionary belongs to the client’s data space
Flow Flow or TQLFlow is a data pipeline that allows the user to designate TQL Clauses in various sequences for more advanced data query, mapping, transforms and more.
Smart Contracts TBD
TQL Tiny Query Language - allows for users familiar with SQL to begin queries into IQ and/or BurstChain®
User any person, company, application or other entity that accesses the platform
